Leaders Recognition Knots

Guardian Angel Bag

This bag contains some helpful hints from a Guardian Angel…

  •  A Smiley Face- to remind you to smile.

  • A Band Aid- To soothe your hut feelings.

  • A Rubber Band- to remind you to stay flexible.

  • A Snickers- to remind you to laugh.

  • A Hug & Kiss- To remind you everyone needs a kiss or hug daily.

  • A toothpick- To remind you to pick out the good qualities in others.

  • An Eraser- to remember that every day we can make a fresh start.

Instructions- 

  • Purchase snack sized items listed in the  bold letters.  
  • Put these in a small snack bag or small pouch.  
  • Print off poems and attach to each bag with a baggie wire or narrow ribbon.
  • Pass out to new or old leaders at the beginning of the year, since everyone appreciates attention.  

New Leader Appreciation Kit

  • A rubber band to remind them to be flexible
  • A glue stick to help them stick with it.
  • A piece of sandpaper for smoothing out the rough edges.
  • A packet of yeast as they rise to the occasion.
  • A few marbles to replace the ones they loose.
  • A safety pin to help them hold it all together and
  • A chocolate kiss to represent our appreciation for their efforts.

Instructions-

  • Put these in a small snack bag or small pouch.

      Pass these out to new or old leaders at the beginning of the year, since everyone appreciates attention and recognition of their time.  

Make Chocolate Roses for thank you gifts.

Supplies:

  • Purchase 1 bag of Hershey’s Hugs & 1 bag of Hershey’s Kisses,

  • Red or pink colored cellophane/ saran wrap &/or red, pink or white tissue paper in 4’ x 6’ rectangles..

  • Green florist tape

  • Green construction paper, optional

  • Curling ribbon, optional

  • Green pipe cleaners

Take one Kiss and one hug and place flat ends together.

Lay chocolates on top of colored paper or saran wrap on the third but towards the middle.

Pull paper over chocolates and wrap sides down to the bottom of chocolates.

Twist all ends together. Use florist tape to secure twisted ends while attaching a 6” green pipe cleaner.

Use construction paper and cut out leaves or use the puffy pipe cleaners and use 2 bumps to form leaves., twist onto stem at various intervals to be leaves.

Add a bow using curling ribbon and a tag saying “Thank You” or “You make a difference... (to me/ us)” and give them out.

Jelly Bean Prayer

"Red is for the blood He gave.

Green is for the grass he made.

Yellow is for the sun so bright.

Orange is for the edge of night.

Black is for the sins we made.

White is for the grace He gave.

Purple is for His hour of sorrow.

Pink is for our new tomorrow.

  • Place one of each traditional colored Jelly Bean listed above in a small plastic bag with a copy of the above printed prayer. 

  •  Give to leaders or others as desired.

Leadership Thank-yous

Mount an item to a small wooden plaque to create a memento as a thank-you for rendering goodwill to the pack adults.

  • Knot—for helping to tie the pack program together.

  • Packet of seeds—for helping the pack grow.

  • Globe—"We think the world of you."

  • Ladder—for helping boys climb the ranks of Cub Scouting.

  • Toy clock—for all the time put into Scouting.

  • Miniature hat—"We tip our hat to you!"

  • Bouncy ball—for adding bounce to the program.
